Summary

ValidaTek is seeking a detail-oriented and Incident Manager to assist the detection, response, and resolution of cybersecurity incidents within the Cybersecurity Systems Support (CSS) contract supporting the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). The Incident Manager will coordinate all incident management activities, ensuring timely and effective resolution while minimizing risk and impact to mission-critical systems. This is a 100% on-site position based in Pensacola, FL.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for all cybersecurity incident management activities within the CSS environment. 
  • Lead the identification, classification, and prioritization of security incidents according to established severity and impact criteria. 
  • Coordinate and direct incident response efforts across technical teams, including system administrators, network engineers, and cybersecurity analysts. 
  • Manage communication and escalation protocols with internal stakeholders, DISA representatives, and external partners as needed. 
  • Ensure accurate and comprehensive documentation of incident actions, timelines, and outcomes to support reporting and compliance. 
  • Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to analyze root causes, implement mitigation strategies, and develop corrective action plans. 
  • Oversee post-incident reviews and lessons learned to improve processes, reduce recurrence, and enhance overall security posture. 
  • Maintain and update incident management tools, workflows, and playbooks to align with evolving threats and best practices. 
  • Generate regular incident status reports and metrics to provide leadership visibility into security event trends and response effectiveness. 
  • Support compliance with DoD cybersecurity policies, including FISMA, RMF, and incident reporting requirements. 

Qualifications

  • Active Secret clearance with the ability to obtain a Top Secret clearance. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field. 
  • DoD 8570 IAM Level II or higher certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP, GCIH) – required. 
  • 2+ years of experience in cybersecurity incident management, information security operations, or related roles. 
  • Strong knowledge of incident management frameworks, best practices, and tools. 
  • Experience coordinating multi-disciplinary teams under pressure during high-impact cybersecurity events. 
  • Familiarity with DoD policies and standards including RMF, FISMA, and NIST SP 800-61 (Computer Security Incident Handling Guide). 
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent incidents. 

 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience working in DoD or government cybersecurity environments. 
  • Proficiency with security monitoring and incident response tools such as SIEM (Splunk, QRadar), ACAS, HBSS, or Tanium. 
  • Knowledge of threat intelligence, malware analysis, and digital forensics. 
  • Understanding of ITIL incident and problem management processes. 
  • Prior experience supporting DISA or similar defense agencies. 

Posted Min Pay Rate

USD $65,000.00/Yr.

Posted Max Pay Rate

USD $90,000.00/Yr.

Salary Disclosure

Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, geographic location, contract affordability, internal equity, education, and certifications.

The upper end of the salary range may be reserved for individuals who have demonstrated tenure with the company, seniority, and proven excellent performance. This includes factors such as education, certifications, and extensive/unique experience beyond what is required.
