Summary
Validatek is seeking a talented VMWare Virtualization Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) SME to support an enterprising program with our DISA customer.
Responsibilities
Provide technical expertise in supporting the VMWare Virtual Desktop Infrastructure in National Capital Region.
Provide technical expertise in supporting the VMWare Virtual Desktop Infrastructure in Hampton Roads (Norfolk/Suffolk).
Maintain desktop image repositories and perform recomposes.
Provide all necessary network connectivity, CSR space, physical and network security services, DNS, backup and restoral services, and physical/virtual machine management services for the virtual desktop solution.
Maintain server equipment operation and connectivity, backup and restoration, and physical and virtual machine technical support services (in coordination with JSP divisions and branches including Cyber Security, Engineering, and Enterprise Services.
Perform management and maintenance of VMWare software (i.e., vCenter, View, etc.).
Maintain management and maintenance of Nutanix servers, or Support Products List (SPL) approved hardware, cluster and network devices (in conjunction with the storage or networks team).
Maintain management and maintenance of DaaS servers to include patching and monitoring.
Provide database support and maintenance, server floor hardware maintenance, DaaS support and maintenance (VDI) and creation of configuration documentation and SOPs.
Qualifications
Active DoD Top Secret clearance.
Bachelor of Science degree in computer engineering, computer information systems, telecommunications, or management information systems, and 5+ years of VDI experience.
Information Assurance (IA) Certification: DoDI 8570 IAT II certification. (Security+ CE, CCNA-Security, CND, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP)
Computing Environment (CE) Certification: Recent and relevant technical certification.
Experience in managing VMWare View Horizon in a JSP server and client systems, to include knowledge in future versions
Experience with Hewlett Packard Enterprise server hardware visualization.
Experience with Windows environment on Server 2012, and Windows 7 and/or 10 operating systems environments similar in size and scope of this order.
Experience with applications/systems in clustered environments.
Experience with MS AppV, ThinApp, Citrix, and other application virtualization technologies.
Experience with MS System Center Configuration Manager for deployment of applications.
Experience with securing Operating Systems to comply with DISA STIGs; network experience configuring and maintaining desktop firewalls.
Possess certifications for VMWare VDI.
Posted Min Pay Rate
USD $114,693.12/Yr.
Posted Max Pay Rate
USD $191,155.20/Yr.
Salary Disclosure
Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, geographic location, contract affordability, internal equity, education, and certifications.
The upper end of the salary range may be reserved for individuals who have demonstrated tenure with the company, seniority, and proven excellent performance. This includes factors such as education, certifications, and extensive/unique experience beyond what is required.
