ValidaTek is seeking a talented SQL Server Database Engineer to support an enterprising program with our DISA customer. This opportunity includes working with a large enterprise of systems supporting tens of thousands of systems and endpoints. 

• Work with SQL Server\database STIGs and mitigating vulnerabilities.
• Operation and Maintenance of SQL Server 2014 - 2016.
• Supporting SharePoint database servers.
• Working with SQL Server Availability Groups and Windows Failover Cluster.
• Performing deployments and upgrades supporting application developers.
• Troubleshooting and resolving system outages and incidents.
• Creating documentation to include CRQ’s, Standard Operating Procedures, Work Orders, Incidents and After Action Reviews.
• Monitoring SQL Server backups.

• Active DOD Top Secret clearance.
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or other related field or at least ten (10) years of equivalent work experience in lieu of degree.
• 5+ years of SQL Server database management experience within DoD environments.
• Possess DoD 8570.01-M/DoD 8140 Certification - IAT Level II required (CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC,Security+ CE, SSCP); IAT Level III is desirable (CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, GCIH). Applicants not meeting this requirement will not be considered.
• Work with SQL Server\database STIGs and mitigating vulnerabilities.
• Past experience working with vulnerability reports and STIG reports.
  Experience and knowledge of SCAP tools and SCAP reporting.
• Operation and Maintenance of SQL Server 2014 - 2016.
• Supporting SharePoint database servers.
• Working with SQL Server Availability Groups and Windows Failover Cluster.
• Performing deployments and upgrades supporting application developers.
• Troubleshooting and resolving system outages and incidents.

Actual salary will be based on a variety of factors including but not limited to experience, geographic location, contract affordability, internal equity, education, and certifications.

The upper end of the salary range may be reserved for individuals who have demonstrated tenure with the company, seniority, and proven excellent performance. This includes factors such as education, certifications, and extensive/unique experience beyond what is required.
