Summary

ValidaTek is seeking a highly qualified Senior Travel Trainer to support the Department of State, Bureau of Consular Affairs Queue Management (CAQM/Q-Flow) lobby line management and customer experience program. The CAQM program provides software, hardware and capabilities that improve the customer waiting and service fulfillment experience at the bureau’s domestic Passport Agencies and Overseas Posts. These locations provide Passport, Visa and Overseas Citizen services for U.S. citizens and foreign nationals.

 

As a Senior Travel Trainer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the end-users of the CAQM/Q-Flow system are properly trained on maximizing the value of the system. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering comprehensive training programs for our software products. You will play a critical role in ensuring our clients and internal teams have the necessary skills and knowledge to effectively utilize our software solutions. The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of technical expertise, instructional design skills, and exceptional communication abilities.

Responsibilities

  • Travel on training trips to overseas US Embassies and US based Passport Agencies to train end-users on using CAQM/Q-Flow software (Travel can be up to 75% a month but will vary depending on scheduling)
  • Conduct instructor-led training sessions, both in-person and virtually, for individuals and groups.
  • Demonstrate software functionality through live demonstrations and simulations, encouraging hands-on learning and active participation.
  • Foster a positive and supportive learning environment, providing guidance, feedback, and assistance to trainees as needed.
  • Adapt training delivery methods to accommodate diverse learning styles and preferences.
  • Assess trainee performance and comprehension through quizzes, assessments, and practical exercises.
  • Gather feedback from trainees and stakeholders to evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and identify areas for improvement.
  • Continuously update and refine training materials and methodologies to reflect software updates, industry best practices, and evolving user needs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand software product functionalities and features.
  • Design and develop engaging and interactive training materials, including presentations, user guides, tutorials, and multimedia visual aids.
  • Customize training programs to meet the specific needs and skill levels of different audiences, including clients, end-users, and internal staff.
  • Utilize instructional design methodologies to create effective learning experiences, such as ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation) or SAM (Successive Approximation Model).
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on our software products, staying current with new features, updates, and industry trends.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation, including training manuals, FAQs, and knowledge base articles.
  • Provide ongoing support and assistance to clients and internal teams, responding to inquiries and troubleshooting issues related to software usage and functionality.

Qualifications

  • BA/BS or equivalent years of experience working in a technical position.
  • Active Secret Clearance
  • Proven experience (5+ years) as a software trainer or instructional designer, preferably in a technology company or software development environment.
  • In-depth knowledge of software applications, platforms, and technologies, with proficiency in relevant programming languages, frameworks, and tools.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Experience with instructional design methodologies and e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate Storyline, Adobe Captivate, Camtasia).
  • Familiarity with learning management systems (LMS) and virtual training platforms (e.g., Zoom, Microsoft Teams, WebEx).
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
  • Customer-focused mindset, with a passion for delivering high-quality training experiences and supporting user success.
