Summary

Responsible for the design, installation, analysis, troubleshooting and maintenance of computer networks. Develops and maintains a network that provides maximum and efficient performance and reliability for users. Performs tasks such as installation and configuration, testing and maintenance on new server hardware and software infrastructures; identification, diagnosis and resolution of network problems; and maintenance of required certification from key vendors. Responsible for keeping the network secure from a variety of threats and the recommendation and scheduling of network repairs.

 

Provide shift leadership for the Global Agile Integrated Transport (GAIT) Network Support Center (NSC) Operations Cell (OC). Responsible for overall operation of the NSC to include schedules, resources, reports and safety. The Shift Lead may also perform other functions but is clearly designated as the Shift Lead and is overall responsible for 24/7/365 GAIT operations during his/her shift. Overall responsible for GAIT missions and NSC operations.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate GAIT missions with the Regional Hub Node (RHN) Site Leads or their designated representative as required.
  • Prepare reports to include the U.S. Army Forces Command (FORSCOM) Executive Summary, the GAIT Master Status Tracker and others as required.
  • Coordinate and prioritize GAIT mission planning, execution and teardown as prescribed by the government.
  • Coordinate, plan and make prioritization recommendations for new GAIT points of presence (POPs).
  • Manage GAIT resources to include personnel. Overall responsible for shift management to ensure that fully qualified personnel are on duty. Responsible for personnel training as required for new capabilities and to certify that new personnel are qualified on all tasks required for their position. Validate and submit for government approval all travel requests.
  • Manage GAIT financial resources. Track expenditures and submit a monthly financial report. Manage the GAIT New Employee Training and Certification Program ensuring compliance with the government standards of knowledge. Provide remediation for any new employee not making suitable progress in the onboarding process. Inform the government prior to any member being allowed to operate independently as a shift member upon completion of the site certification program.

Qualifications

  • Prior Army (preferred)/military SATCOM and/or tactical network experience highly desirable
  • 5 years related experience, ideally as an Army Sergeant/NCO supporting SATCOM, tactical network and/or RHN operations
  • Active Secret Clearance Required.
  • Bachelors degree is a plus
