Position Overview:

As a Senior Okta Engineer, you will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and managing our Okta identity and access management solutions. You will be responsible for ensuring the security, scalability, and efficiency of our identity management infrastructure, enabling seamless user experiences and robust security protocols.

• Okta Implementation and Configuration: Design, implement, and configure Okta solutions to meet business requirements, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems and applications. Responsible for devising and refining user access policies for various access use cases – 2FA, MFA, RBAC, ABAC, etc. Responsible for on-boarding and off-boarding users to Okta for providing access to certain applications.
• Identity and Access Management: Oversee the end-to-end identity federations and access management lifecycle in Okta, including user provisioning, authentication, single sign-on, and multi-factor authentication. Integrate SaaS and on-premise tools to Okta for user access.
• Security and Compliance: Implement security best practices, monitor system security, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations related to identity and access management.
• Collaboration: Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, system administrators, and security experts, to integrate Okta solutions into various applications and services.
• Troubleshooting and Support: Provide technical support and troubleshooting assistance related to Okta services, addressing issues promptly to minimize downtime and ensure a seamless user experience.
• Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation related to Okta configurations, processes, and best practices.
• Continuous Improvement: Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices in identity and access management. Recommend and implement process improvements and innovative solutions to enhance the overall security posture of the organization.
• Training and Mentoring: Provide Okta guidance and training to team administrators, fostering skill development and knowledge sharing within the team.

• Bachelor’s degree in Cyber Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 5+ years of cyber security experience.
• 3+ years of experience configuring Okta for user access policy management and SSO.
• DoD Secret Clearance - required. Top Secret Clearance - preferred. Must pass the DHS EOD clearance process.
• A thorough understanding of Identity and Access Management processes and user life-cycle management, Identity Governance Administration.
• Highly proficient in authentication protocols, e.g. SAML 2.0.
• Okta Certified Professional or Okta Certified Administrator – preferred.
• Strong expertise in identity and access management concepts, protocols, and standards (e.g., SAML, OAuth, LDAP).
• Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g., Python, PowerShell) for automation tasks related to Okta configurations.
• Experience with cloud-based identity solutions and familiarity with cloud security best practices.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
• Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
